Psychotherapy integrates different aspects of the human being that are connected and interrelated, such as the mind (both conscious and unconscious), emotions and their relationship with the body, actions, and the essence of each individual.
From Gestalt therapy, the aim is to help individuals understand how these different aspects of themselves function and to become aware in order to enhance their ability to act in ways that benefit their needs.
“I am responsible for my actions and my life.” Taking responsibility for our circumstances gives us a sense of control over the future and helps us make decisions based on our personal values.
“The past is gone, and the future has not yet come; the only thing that exists is what we are experiencing in this moment.” The present experience allows for a connection with oneself and the environment, creating a sense of calm and fulfillment. Understanding how we relate to this present helps us become aware and take responsibility for it, as well as comprehend past aspects that have an impact now.
Self-awareness. By becoming aware of ourselves, we can better understand our behaviors and make healthy decisions aligned with our values, leading to a greater level of life satisfaction.
